We have an initial face-to-face consultation with all new clients. In other words, we do not provide legal services solely by phone, e-mail or facsimile.
If the matter is typical and not complicated, we can likely provide our advice on it at the initial consultation, and the clients do not need to pay more.
Generally, we provide legal services on a contingent fee or time charge basis.
Clients choosing contingent fee arrangement will pay an “initial fee” at the start of the matter. Clients will also pay a “success fee,” but only if they achieved financial recovery or other success on the matter. Typical rate of initial fee is 8.64% and success fee is 17.28% of the amount of the financial recovery, with applicable increases or decreases based on type, complexity, size or other factors pertaining to the matter.
Typical rate of time charge arrangement is 21,600 Yen per hour.
Communication, transportation, translation or other expenses will be charged separately.
We are willing to consider flexible fee arrangements. Discounts and publicly-sponsored installment payment arrangements may also be available. If you have any questions or concerns about our attorney fees, please feel free to contact us.
Under an arrangement with the Canadian Embassy, our firm offers “Signature Witness Service” to Canadians residing in Shikoku (Kagawa, Ehime, Tokushima and Kochi) and neighboring prefectures. By this service, Canadian citizens may have their documents notarized without physically appearing at the Canadian Embassy or Consulate. These documents include attestations, marriage affidavits, translation declarations, and oaths.
For further information, please contact the Canadian Embassy.
